What is ECO MEIJIN
ECO MEIJIN is a system that aims to exercise efficient energy consumption, which is one of the SDGs.
Door sensor and motion sensors installed in each guest room detect the presence or absence of guest, and when they are out, lights are turned off and air conditioning switches to idling mode (pre-cooling / pre-heating) operation, which enable to save energy and room temperature management are automatically performed.
With a number of days exceeding 30°C are increasing, hotel operators are paying attention to keep the room temperature lower to satisfy guests upon check-in. However at the same time they need to pay utmost attention to lower electric consumptions during summer season when power consumption reaches to the highest level, and to lower energy cost.
ECO MEIJIN can realize both comfort and energy saving in a stress-free manner for guest, at the same time it greatly contributes to environmental measures cost and image improvement.

Features of ECO MEIJIN
Sensor interlocking
In order to accurately detect presence or absence of guest, two types of sensors are being installed; a door sensor installed above the guest room entrance and a motion sensor is on the ceiling of the guest room. When door sensor detects guest entering the room, lighting and air conditioning are instantly restored to original state (i.e. lighting is turned on and air conditioning is operated at 24°C as set by the guest), and then motion sensor detects guest`s presence. Now the system can manually be operated at guest`s preference. When guest’s exit from the room is detected, all lights are turned off and air conditioning is switched to idling mode operation(pre-cooling/pre-heating) after 15minutes.
Idling mode operation (pre-cooling/pre-heating)
When the guest is not in the room, air conditioning automatically switches to pre-cooling/pre-heating operation to save energy. (Standard pre-cooling: 27°C, pre-heating: 16°C. Variable.) When the guest re-enters the room, it instantly returns to the original set temperature.

Reliable energy savings
Weaknesses of conventional card-slot type energy saving system is such that guests tend to insert card-type-object to keep system running when leaving the room in order to maintain set room temperature. However, our sensor-activated system can save useless energy consumption while guest is out.
It would alleviate the burden to human body
When guest returns to the room, idling mode operation (pre-cooling/pre-heating) gradually makes room temperature lower (or higher) to desired room temperature set by the guest, thereby it would alleviate the burden to human body. It would prevent complaints such as "too hot" or "too cold".
It would eliminate burdensome operation to guest
Every time guest enters or leaves the room, motion sensor would activate to turn air conditioning operative at idling mode and lighting on and off. Unlike conventional method of card –slot type energy saving system, guest does not feel burdensome when entering the room.
Energy cost saving effect by ECO MEIJIN
Significant energy cost saving is realized by introducing ECO MEIJIN.
Our record shows that a hotel with approx.. 400 rooms achieved cost reduction of approx.. yen25 million/year.(In some cases, the amount of cost savings exceeded yen50 million /year.) *The difference in result depends on room occupancy rate, guest-mix and length of stay.
